Fish Out Of Water

Fish Out of Water is a comedy writing podcast hosted by Jeremiah Burton and Ryan Tweedy. Each week they have a new guest join them and talk about various types of comedy writing from television to the internet to live theater. It’s a podcast where comedians get to nerd out about writing comedy and talk about what makes them laugh.

In episode number 7, Dan Banas joins us and talks about everything he thinks is important in comedy writing including staying grounded, hitting the first page correctly and setting up the premise properly. Dan has been a writing for nearly a decade and has studied at both iO West and UCB. He is a writer/performer on the team “It doesn’t Have To Be This Way” and is the director of the sketch team “Ms. Smith”. Dan also brings up people he admired in his career, such as Neil Campbell and also touches on the objectivity of comedy.  Dan has opinions guys! This is great one!
